The season is almost over, and the roses seem to be thriving in the cooler temperatures. I like both the before and after versions of this picture. I think I might even like the saturation better in the before version.

It's amazing what people with imagination can do with such simple things as silverware. I'm sad that they won't get to be put into the garden this season, but they will be a great addition for next year! Thanks, Cindy!

When Laura was working at Panera, she used to bake special asiago cheese bread for me and Cindy. It wasn't anything on the menu, and it was awesome. Yesterday Cindy brought me in a loaf. It's not quite what Laura used to make us, but the smell was amazing...just like Laura's!

We try to help Trinka look a little less intimidating by dressing her up for Halloween. She loves to greet all the kids when they come to the door and a German Shepherd facing them down does scare some of them. She's pretty good about the costume, but hates the headgear. I was happy she at least kept it on for the picture.

Sometimes I think that the dried up versions of the flowers in my garden make more interesting photos then when they are in full bloom.

The changing colors are probably the best thing about fall in Wisconsin. It certainly doesn't extend into when they all fall off the trees, that's for sure. I like the hyper color in the edited photo - the trees look almost that saturated if the sun is bright enough.

After a little bit of attitude adjustment from Dale (who informs me that the walls are certainly not square), the first set of closet doors are hung. I'm still working on finishing the knobs, but the doors sure look nice. That poor interior door looks kind of naked, though - I'll have to get working on it soon.

Dale is of the opinion that caramel syrup goes on any kind of ice cream. I am sorry but I can't agree - tonight's combination is mint chocolate chip with caramel. I don't think so...

I debated playing with this in Lightroom, but I didn't want to skew the natural colors of the season. It's too bad they can't stay on the tree like this - all it means is that soon they'll be on the ground.

After way too much time away, it's time to finish up those house projects that I started when Dale was gone. Granted - we did work on getting the closet door headers built last winter, I am now in the process of finishing the doors. So far I'm pretty excited about how they're turning out!

This is one of those people I just cannot say no to - and Pastor Freyer has that uncanny knack of helping you say yes with a smile. This year I was recruited to take some pictures of the Mequon-Thiensville Optimists at their annual dinner. I'm hoping they are what they're looking for.
