It was another busy weekend around here - cleaning, what else? Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate yesterday, and the rain kept me from taking my latest load to the Goodwill store. With the Packer game starting at 7:30 p.m. I had a great window to load up Dale's truck and drop everything off. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to get there until Thursday, and walking all the way around the table to get through the kitchen was already getting old. Eleven more bags of clothes and four boxes of shoes later...hard to believe there are still more clothes to go through. But I'm getting pretty close to completion!

Fall Decor
Photo 51 - November 13
Last year's fall decorations at church were beautiful...but unfortunately only available for people to enjoy for one night - Thanksgiving Eve. This year, since I'm on the worship committee and in charge of the Altar Guild, I have the opportunity to make a little noise, so I suggested we put them up earlier, so more of the congregation would get to see and enjoy them. I think it was a good call - they are beautiful accents to worship.

On my way to church I pulled behind a truck sporting this decal in their back window. Once upon a time I wouldn't have had my camera with me to capture it. Good thing I'm doing this blog, right?

Another Working Weekend
Photo 50 - November 12
Every weekend seems to be a working weekend here. Two more weeks and they come to refinish the floors, and I need a place to move things to. After hours of work, including shredding a box of tax returns dating back to 1979, the downstairs kitchen floor is uncovered! Kenn wanted to know what I did with everything (garbage and Goodwill was the answer to that question) and Laura couldn't remember that the floor had a pattern. But now I can scrub it down, and I have a place to stack mattresses and put the upstairs things when I empty all the rooms.

People don't always believe me when I tell them that Trinka watches TV. It's actually gotten pretty obnoxious, because she posts herself right in front of it and waits for something to appear on screen that she can bark at. See her intently watching Harry Potter - at least she has good taste in films.

It's Recycle Day!
Photo 48 - November 10
Yes! It's recycle day! But there was still not enough room in the recycle bin - you can see the other bag of shredded paper up next to the garage. I'm afraid in another 2 weeks I will have more than will fit...again. All I can do is hope that I run out of paper to shred and cardboard to stack.

This was another experiment on shooting in the dark, and I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out. I have a number of lights in my gardens, and this mosaic one is in the tiers as you come up to the back gate. I actually had to expose it for 30 seconds in order to get the shot. But the result is pretty cool.

No I am NOT ready
Photo 47 - November 9
It looked more like December or January, but certainly not like the beginning of November. The first snowfall of the season looked like a raging blizzard. Good thing that shortly after this was taken it let up and everything melted. But soon enough we will be cursed with more and it won't just melt away.

I also got my first box to Dale out today (not counting the one I sent to him for his birthday in Indiana). I am excited to be sending him magazines and other reading material that come here addressed to him. That way I'm not tempted to keep them laying around, and I know he will read them and dispose of them before he heads back home.

Musical Tuesdays
Photo 46 - November 8
Yes, Tuesdays are musical! Bell choir practice commences at 6:30 p.m. and is followed by choir at 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays at church. I wasn't as happy with the group picture as I would have liked, because I had to use a big aperture to take the pictures without flash, and the depth of field wasn't what I wanted. But the individual shot of our director, Anita, and the shot of Randy singing with the other basses in the background were more to my liking.
