Of course I already had my camera in the car when I came back to the house to retrieve the garbage, and saw this little guy hanging out on the doorframe. He didn't seem too concerned that I was about 6 inches away from him, either.
I also figured I'd share my slightly infected finger. You'd never think that a stupid sliver could do so much damage. The picture doesn't do it justice, but it's swollen all the way from my fingernail to just below where the sliver is still hanging out. After two weeks you'd think it would want to come out of there...but apparently not. Be impressed that I took this finger with my left hand attempting to hold the camera and push the shutter, because it felt totally awkward to me.
I love irises, and have a bunch of different colors and varieties growing in my gardens. The bearded irises are blooming now, and the Japanese and Siberian irises are just getting started. I'm afraid of how much I'm going to miss being gone for a week!
