Well if nothing else, this blog title might get some attention. The question now is if it actually means anything... This time - I guess all I can say is kinda - depending on what context you want to take it in.
I've come to the conclusion that over the course of 365 photos, I am not going to be able to have something meaningful to say about all of them. I will be able to identify the content of the photo, but that doesn't mean there was a reason I took the picture other than I thought it was a cool picture, or it forced me to work on another skill that I need work on, or something like that. That's not to say my pictures won't be meaningful at times, and document an event or something memorable. I just don't want this blog to become a composite of what I did every day, because that's really not the total intention. But now I feel like I'm rambling...
I love shooting with my camera set to 2.8 - wide open aperture. I truly love the effect of having my subject in focus, but losing the background. I'm learning that I don't have to keep it totally wide open to get the blur effect, but the more background blur I have the happier I am. Unfortunately in some of my portrait work, this has backfired on me a little bit. Nothing good about having just a nose in focus and the rest of the face blurred...at least that's not usually the effect I'm going for.
These garden stakes are posted outside of my back door, and are just kind of haphazardly stuck into the ground. But I like how they look - I like the randomness of them, and 2.8 on the aperture lets you see only them...
