It's pretty cool how you can see every stitch on the stars of my outdoor garden flag, thanks to my macro lens. It was just that kind of patriotic day.
Today was our first family get together post-deployment. Our group was small, but we had a good time and got to know each other a little bit better. There were a bunch of people who sent their regrets, so it sounds like our next get together should grow. It definitely was nice to talk to people in the same situation as I am, and see what they're doing to pass the deployment time. Laura came along with me, so it was nice to have her there to share the afternoon with too. On top of that, the first 13 garbage bags of clothes were dropped off at Goodwill...and I am sad that I missed that photo opportunity. And I am already busy getting the next load ready for delivery.
